My son attends this school. It is absolutely wonderful. He is a senior this year. The first week of school, I asked him to tell me what his thoughts were about school. He said, " I like this school because I don't feel INVISIBLE. I ask a question, the teacher stops and listens." Phil Clarke and his staff allow every student a voice. That translates into a positive learning environment.

I highly recommend Arroyo Pacific Academy! My youngest daughter spent 4 successful years there & graduated recently. She had always struggled academically, but flourished at Arroyo, due to their smaller classroom sizes & the individual attention she received from her teachers. I loved how the teachers helped the students stay organized & focused, & kept the students accountable & responsible for their school work. As a result, my daughter mastered subjects she could never grasp before! Her grades went from C's and D's to B's and a few A's, (which was quite an accomplishment). I spent a lot of time volunteering, so I could see how things were run. I was impressed with the teachers & just about everything overall! We felt so lucky to have found such a special school. I liked that whether your teen was on the 'Ivy League' path or on the 'remedial studies' path, all received the best curriculum suited for them. My daughter loved her high school years & had many positive experiences. She made many lasting friendships & especially enjoyed the international students. She still corresponds with many & hopes to visit them soon, (in their native country)!

This is a wonderful school. My son is a junior. We were attracted to the school because of the guaranteed small class size and its media program. The school guarantees that every class will have fewer than 15 students. This helps students be successful. They are able to get feedback from their teachers daily. Their homework is graded in a timely manner so that students can find out if they understand the material. Additionally, after school, students can go to their teachers to get help with their homework. How great is this? My son was attracted to the media production program. The school has a news program. Students are able to create their own films. The instructor has years of experience in the Film industry and is an absolutely fantastic teacher. He is very encouraging and motivates his students. The school also has an excellent Drama and Music program. Because the school is so small students are able to participate to a much greater degree than in other school. All of the teachers are wonderful professionals. In many schools Advanced Placement (AP) courses are only offered to some students. Arroyo Pacific allows all of its students to take any of the AP classes that are offered. The students do very well on the AP Exams. Arroyo Pacific helps the students succeed by offering a Pre-AP class in the summer. This makes the class much less daunting for students and they are able to cover all of the material. The programs at Arroyo Pacific is structured to help students excel. The program is definitely student oriented. Arroyo Pacific works with students to help them succeed. The school has 4 quarters a school year. Students spend around 9 weeks in one quarter, then have finals and a short break. This enables students to focus on the subject without getting bored. The small class size, the ability to obtain after school tutoring with teachers, the excellent teachers all contribute to every student having an opportunity to do well. This is a great school. I wish every student had an opportunity to be in a program like this.
