Tenacre Country Day School Photo #3 - Students from pre-kindergarten to grade 5 participate in their class play. Instead of a class play, sixth graders take the lead roles in the spring musical, a dynamic production that has included, "The Music Man," "Shrek," "The Lion King," and "The Little Mermaid." Fifth graders play supporting roles in the musical (in addition to starring in their own class play).
Tenacre Country Day School Photo #4 - Playing sports at Tenacre is a highly anticipated event for the younger students. They love hearing about the outcomes of games at morning assembly and attend games to cheer on the "big kids." Go Tigers!
Tenacre Country Day School Photo #5 - Tenacre students have plenty of one-on-one time working with their teachers because of the small student-to-teacher ratio.
Tenacre Country Day School Photo #6 - Tenacre is a warm and inclusive community for students and families.
Tenacre Country Day School Photo #7 - Play remains an important part of the learning process in pre-kindergarten and provides a gateway to imagination and creativity for all four and five year olds. Each day, children have opportunities to engage in outdoor play and choice time, which includes a mixture of directed activities and opportunities for personal choice.
Tenacre Country Day School Photo #8 - Tenacre's athletic program's main goal is participation. Everyone plays, regardless of skill level. Working together as a team fosters a strong feeling of camaraderie among fifth and sixth graders.
Tenacre Country Day School Photo #9 - At Tenacre, science is 'element'ary! Pre-kindergartners have science twice a week with a dedicated science teacher in the school's state-of-the-art science center. By sixth grade, students meet four times a week and have learned how to write lab reports.
Tenacre Country Day School Photo #10 - Tenacre's campus includes a beautiful library, a state-of-the-art science center, a brand new stage and theatre space, a new lunchroom, and plenty of classroom space in which our students can stretch their minds. Come visit and see for yourself!

What is not to love about this school? My children have been going to Tenacre for the last seven years. This is a school that provides a strong, solid academic foundation from highly qualified teachers that genuinely care about helping a child reach his/her full potential. This school provides a safe, nurturing yet rigorous academic environment, and the teachers develop incredible bonds with their students (and families). The teachers are great role models and a school is a beloved place in children`s lives. Tenacre is a place that truly values kindness and compassion every day. Each class has two highly qualified teachers which are split up into smaller groups for each academic subject area to provide more individualized attention. This school does an exceptional job of developing leaders by building on each student`s individual strengths. In each grade, this school provides dozens of opportunities to hone leadership skills, engage in public speaking through presentations and perform on stage in first-class productions. They recently completed a renovation including a beautiful and inspiring theater space and light filled cafeteria. At the same time, they added a new state-of-the-art science building. I love that kids eat at multi-age tables and serve their younger school-mates. We`ve been part of the Tenacre community for seven years and truly love it. We love everything it has done for our oldest child who just graduated and is thriving at a competitive secondary school.

Our daughter is in first grade at Tenacre and we have loved our time at the school so far. My husband is a Tenacre graduate so we were familiar with the school before our daughter entered Pre-K but the experience has consistently exceeded our expectations. My husband often remarks on how the facilities are so dramatically improved from his time at Tenacre but that the school retains the same warm, supportive environment. Tenacre is a place that strikes the right balance between supporting and challenging each child, with a special emphasis on teaching children to be kind and caring. Every one of our daughter's classroom teachers has been outstanding and the school seems very enthused by the addition of the new Head of School, Will Crissman.
