Minnesota Waldorf School

70 East County Road B, St Paul, MN, 55117-0551
Located on 8 acres of rolling woodland and green space in St. Paul, MN, the Minnesota Waldorf School is an independent pre-K through 8th grade school. We value the critical link between inspiration and education. Music, movement, world language, handwork, and art are thoughtfully integrated with a strong core of humanities and sciences. Our classrooms and teachers offer a warm, nurturing environment that allows children's capacities to unfold and grow, naturally. Our students rise to the challenges of learning with a sense of discovery and curiosity. Whenever possible, teachers remain with the same class from 1st through 8th grade, allowing for growth and a deepening of the class community. Children flow from cooking and imaginative play in preschool and kindergarten, to marching math games and building projects in early grades, and then advance to scientific discovery and critical thinking in upper grades. Our school is fully accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America, as well as AdvancED. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, ability, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, nationality or ethnic origin.

    • Parent-Toddler Class: Share in a cozy morning of cooking, toy making or seasonal crafts, then join in the comforting rhythm of circle time and a healthy snack. Each morning session ends with a parents-only discussion with a trained Waldorf teacher, to help you explore joyful ways to parent with warmth, rhythm and understanPrivate Schoolsding.
    • Preschool & Kindergarten: In our charming kindergarten, nurturing teachers gently guide children trhough creative play and imagination-- laying a firm foundation for academic work in the grades. Teachers lead children through a day of play and work, story and song, nature and movement-- awakening and celebrating each child\'s innate sense of joy and wonder. Grinding wheat to make bread, washing and carding wool, collecting eggs from the coop, and watercolor painting create an awe-filled, intelligent foundation that sets the stage for academics to begin in 1st grade.

School Reviews:

  • Recommended May 28,2013 - My daughter just finished her last year of Kindergarten at the Minnesota Waldorf School and will be going on to first grade in the fall. We could not be happier with the teachers, classrooms, community and curriculum at MWS. It is a warm and loving environment, the academic schedule is based on neurological studies of how the brain develops and the optimal time to introduce math, science and reading. And of course we love the emphasis on connecting kids to the outdoors and limiting media exposure. This is a fabulous school and must be experienced to really understand its uniqueness and beauty. Do yourself and your child a favor: call to set up a visit.*-Posted by Parent *
  • Recommended May 23,2013 - I have two children attending MWS and I cannot imagine them ever attending anywhere else. The faculty and staff are supportive, warm and very committed to the success of each child. The focus is on meeting your child where they are at on a personal, academic and social level to develop your child''s unique gifts I highly recommend MWS.*-Posted by Parent *

  • Recommended May 18,2013 - Our children are very happy and enthusiastic about going to school here. Compared to other schools we looked at, the environment is calm, respectful and fun. The children are very well rounded academically, artistically and athletically. What a great place to learn.*-Posted by Parent *
