Featured School
7th Grade QED Project allows students to pursue their interests and passions through a 16-week independent study with an expert mentor.
Upper School Trip Week takes students snorkeling and exploring environmental stewardship on Catalina Island (6th Grade), zip-lining and developing teamwork and leadership skills in the San Bernardino Mountains (7th Grade), and river rafting, hiking, and spending time with school children and locals in Costa Rica (8th Grade).
The Lower School Track Meet competes against local schools to practice teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness.
Each 8th Grader presents a Current Event at a daily all-school assembly, in conjunction with their public speaking class. The daily assembly allows students to perform and present in front of the entire school community, developing stage presence and public speaking skills.
Upper School students develop a strong conceptual understanding through experiential learning and hands-on lessons and programs.
The Upper School Service Learning program empowers students to care for one another and the world around them by letting them choose the organizations to support and develop ways in which to help. At any one time, 8–10 local and international organizations are being supported by Crane students.
The Upper School Musical gives students a stage to express their musical and theatrical abilities. Past shows include Aladdin, Peter Pan, and High School Musical.
Lower School Spring Study Week immerses students in a thematic study through complete experiential education. Classrooms are transformed into dynamic learning environments where students participate in cross-grade workshops and attend guest presentations. Past themes have included Native Americans, The Renaissance through Leonardo da Vinci, and Latitude 0: Journey around the Equator.
Crane Country Day School is dedicated to providing an experiential education characterized by a thoughtful balance of academic challenge and creative expression.
We thrive as a community that builds character and confidence, while celebrating the joy in learning.
