School Notes:

  • We believe in a child's innate curiosity and desire to learn. Our goal is to provide a stimulating academic environment in which children may grow intellectually, realize personal creativity, develop self-assurance, and gain an appreciation of and respect for the diversity in the world around them. The purpose of our program is to reach the whole child in a personal and consistent manner. Through innovative approaches to a traditional curriculum, we provide a thorough foundation in the fundamentals of English, mathematics, science, social studies, and Spanish. We deem art, drama, music, and athletics to be essential parts of our curriculum. Library media and technological resources provide integral support for the program. We encourage students to be eager learners and to take responsibility for their education through three simple principles: 1. be kind to one another, 2. concentrate in class, 3. do the assigned homework. A student mindful of these principles will develop self-discipline and a sound approach to learning. Parents serve as important partners with the school in helping their children embrace these ideals. We believe in the importance of values in the curriculum and strive to build a moral community. We foster personal and social values, emphasizing kindness, honesty, cooperation, self-reliance, compassion, and community service. We believe that helping build moral character in an ethical community will lead to the growth of an inner sturdiness in every child. Mission Statement: Crane Country Day School is dedicated to providing an experiential education characterized by a thoughtful balance of academic challenge and creative expression. We thrive as a community that builds character and confidence, while celebrating the joy in learning.
