Norman, Moore, Little Axe and Lexington public school districts and All Saints Catholic School will be closed today and Friday for fall break.Noble Public Schools are taking off Wednesday through Friday of this week.

Joan Patricia Heaslip Ivester passed away on August 10, 2009 in Norman, Oklahoma. Joan, whose family owned a home in the Heights, was born on June 29, 1935 in Brooklyn and was adopted by her parents, John William and Helen Boardman Heaslip.

Construction of a new northwest Norman fire station could begin early next year if city council members approve purchase of two acres on 36th Avenue NW north of Tecumseh Road Tuesday.The $400,000 contract is for two acres on 36th Avenue NW just south of All Saints Catholic School.

Students at All Saints Catholic School, 4001 36th Avenue NW, broke ground on a gymnasium this past week.A private capital campaign raised most of the $1.2 million needed to build the 12,000-square-foot facility which will include a gymnasium, kitchen, PE facilities and office, concession stand and storage.
