Our Lady of Peace School is a Catholic elementary school, grades Preschool through Grade 8, dedicated to the growth of our children in a religious as well as an academic atmosphere; it gives primary importance to Christian values and academic excellence. Our students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 are taught by state certified teachers. Full time music, art and physical education teachers as well as a full time librarian are on the staff, and we have the services of remedial teachers in reading, math and speech, as well as a guidance counselor. The school is committed to developing young people who understand and value the importance of character, self-discipline and faith: daily classes in religious education, weekly Mass, opportunities for spiritual growth and leadership, sacramental preparation, Living Stations of the Cross, Mary's Day celebration, as well as outreach programs designed to help students become aware of and reach out to those in need.     The husband of an Irish-born woman who grew up in Pennsylvania was charged with her brutal murder in early June. The body of Dublin -born Caroline Coffey, 28, was found along a wooded trail in a park 400 yards from the home she shared with her husband in Ithaca , New York at the beginning of June.
