Albert W. Moeller Jr. got his Purple Heart "sitting in my office" - a bomber in World War II. After he returned, he began a 42-year career with Procter & Gamble, where he met his wife, Marie. The West Side resident, a member of Grace Lutheran Church for 83 years, was 87.

It's been a banner year in sports for the Grace Lutheran School Eagles in East Arlington. The school, affiliated with Grace Lutheran Church, opened in 1997 at 12200 McCormick Road. The Eagles varsity boys basketball team clinched first place in the Jacksonville Christian Athletic League Boys Basketball Championship in February.
