Mercy is definitely the school to go to if you are looking for a strong sense of community and engagement. There is a high emphasis on bonding with your classmates and, if you play a sport (as most of the student body does at one point or another), your teammates. Retreats are a very big deal, as most any alum will tell you, and community service is a must (no, really, there's a 20 hour a year requirement). It's all worth it though. The academic aspect is challenging, but they definitely provide the support to back it up and ensure you can succeed. It is the kind of school where, at the very least, a handful of teachers will get to know you well, and will help you find where you belong.
