Hawley has been commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army after completing the Reserve Officer Training Corps program and receiving a bachelors degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee. A 2005 graduate of Appleton East High School, he is the son of Tim and Peggy Hawley of Appleton.
