School Notes Overview: |
Shining Star School is located near the Alberta Arts District in Portland and provides accessible Waldorf education. We offer early childhood education, mixed age kindergarten, four-day grades and a one-day homeschool support program. A typical school day includes main lesson, flutes, movement, handwork, German or Japanese, gardening, games, outdoor play, with every subject incorporating a rich and nurturing artistic approach. The Pre K and K are developmental, focusing on social activities and artistic activities, encouraging play and using the imagination. Waldorf is the fastest growing private school movement in the world, and we are proud to join our sister schools here in Portland, the Portland Waldorf School and Cedarwood Waldorf School. We plan to expand to all eight grades in the next few years, and would love to invite anyone to contact us, and come visit! Children are very happy at Shining Star School! ...read more
