This school has done wonders for my daughter. The small class size vs teacher ration (6:1) is tremendously helpful. When public school failed my daughter over and over again, Flint Academy has helped her thrive. She had many behavioral problems at public school but since she has been in Flint Academy, she is a completely different child. For a child that hated school for so long due to feeling different and picked on, Flint has brought joy back to school for her! She loves to go to school and begs to go even when she is sick. For any parent that has been through 504 plans , IRDs, and special ed in public school, you will be relieved to find that you will NOT need any of that at Flint. The teachers are trained for Gifted and talented, mainstream, and special needs children. They do an amazing job and she has learned so much in her time at Flint. For a parent with a special needs child struggling in public school, Flint is one of the greatest gifts you can get. Seeing the joy on her face and the determination to learn even when the subject may be hard is amazing! Thank you Flint Academy!

I have a child that was diagnosed with ASD, ADHD, and Dyslexia. The Public school system failed her over and over. By 5th grade, she barley knew any sight words and certainly could not read a sentence so we pulled her out of public school and she started at Flint in 2014. She has thrived in their small class environment (12 kids at the most and 2 teachers per a class). She has made so much progress being at this school and the teachers are able to give a more one on one approach and adjust assignments as needed. They also have animals at the school that are used for learning but the classes take turns taking care of the animals while in school (lizard, tortoise, bunnies, etc.) and also have daily classroom chores at the end of the school day. The school is Mon - Thurs from 9:30-3:30p, which is much shorter than public school, but she has learned more in her 3 years at Flint than all her years in public school. This is a Christian based school so they also have a bible lesson on top of all the other academics. The academics are hands on learning which is great for kids with dyslexia,. I also love that the kids are also expected to be kind to everyone (no bullying or talking ugly about others is tolerated at all). I love this school and so does my daughter.

My grandson started at Flint Academy in 2015 and we have been very pleased with his progress. The environment, teaching methods, and people have helped him immensely. He had behavior problems at his previous schools and they have disappeared since he has been to Flint. He loves going to school now and actually thought last summer was way too long. Would highly recommend Flint Academy.

We have two student in Flint Academy. Both are dyslexic and one is AD/HD which makes it very difficult to thrive in the public school system. The teachers and curriculum at Flint provide a safe environment in which our students are learning and growing. As with any good school, parent involvement is vitally important. There are regularly scheduled progress reports but, more importantly, teachers and administration is readily available to discuss student progress or any parental concerns at any time. I would recommend Flint Academy to any family seeking a quality education, learning not only the basics but being taught ethical and moral behaviors through practice and example.
