    Palma High School's first touchdown in its 34-21 victory Friday night at Alisal High School came on a 1-yard run by Jack Myers. An article on page 2B of Saturday's newspaper credited the touchdown to another player.

    Air Force Airman 1st Class Mark J. Causey and Air Force Airman Chloe L. Waters graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Causey, a 2002 graduate of North Salinas High School, is the son of Virginia Causey of Salinas.

    A January trial date was set Friday for a Salinas Valley State Prison guard accused of hiring a hit man to kill his former love interest. Timothy Rodriguez, 38, faces a potential life sentence if convicted on charges of attempted murder, solicitation for murder and possession of a silencer.
