The Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School is a welcoming, diverse community that serves students in grades K-8. The curriculum incorporates the California Standards along with: Critical thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Character Development and Community Service. These “C’s” are applied in all areas of the curriculum – Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, Hebrew Language, Judaic Studies, Social Studies. In each grade, students participate in project-based learning. This means that students have the chance to delve deeply into a particular subject as they conduct their own research and produce various products demonstrating their new knowledge of the subject matter. Project based learning also includes engagement with experts in discovering answers to research questions and the practice of revising and refining work to produce a final product to publicly display new knowledge. We are proud of the emergence of our STEM initiative, bringing science, technology, engineering and mathematics innovation into our K-8 classrooms. Wornick students also participate in team sports, art, music, technology and outdoor education classes. The academic program includes an obligation to use one's knowledge to serve the community. Our parents, staff and students are all regularly involved in community service. Additionally, our parents are actively involved in the life of the school. The school fosters a strong connection to the land of Israel and we maintain a partnership with the Reali School in Haifa.
