Campus Middle School for Girls is the only single-gender middle school for girls in the Urbana-Champaign area, providing individual attention and strong, diverse course offerings to its students grades 6-8. Campus Middle School was founded in 1993/94. The school was started with nine girls, three professional teachers and many parent volunteers. While it was not to be home schooling, the caring, small-group atmosphere was still an academic "home away from home," hence the original name, Home Hi. The goal of Campus Middle School for Girls is to provide a safe challenging environment where all girls can develop their creative and intellectual powers, develop a love of learning and a passion for excellence.

School Notes:

  • Campus Middle School students are well prepared intellectually and mentally for the challenges of high school.  They often enter advanced programs and graduate at the top of thier classes.  In our all-girl environment with girl-centered teaching strategies, students are able to display thier intelligence and curiosity without the social distractions of a co-ed classroom.  A frequent observation by our students is, "It's okay to be smart!"

Our proximity to the Univeristy of Illinois provides frequent supplemental learning opportunites in math, science, history and the arts.
