Established in 1972, Litchfield Montessori School offers an exceptional education to children 15 months through 15 years old who come from twenty surrounding communities. Located on four acres in the Northfield section of Litchfield, the school is nestled in natural beauty, adjacent to a community park. Designed by world-renowned architect Marcel Breuer, the building structure utilizes the flow of natural light and complements our classroom environments; richly prepared to meet the developing needs of the individual child. We are committed to serving the whole child, guided by the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori, dedicated to nurturing the child's love of learning, preserving the child's sense of wonder, encouraging independence and imagination, and fostering respect for our world's social and cultural diversity.
