York School

Tel: (831)372-7338
Grades: 8-12 | 220 students
York is a small school with a distinctive campus culture, exceptional faculty, and a rigorous academic program.
In the inclusive Episcopal school tradition, we recognize the dignity of all human beings and welcome our students’ diverse talents, viewpoints, and faiths.
We’ve found that our small school community helps develop personal responsibility and concern for others.
With 225 students in grades 8-12, the York community is small in some ways, large in others.
We are large enough to provide a comprehensive academic and extra-curricular program, with wide range of courses designed to provide excellent preparation for college, and small enough to offer everyone an opportunity for personal expression through participation in clubs, drama, music, sports, student government, and social activities.
Small classes bring closer contact with academic work, more chances to interact directly with faculty, and the kind of personal attention that takes students to the next level.

School Reviews

York School is one of the greatest prep schools in the US. I attended Santa Catalina and transferred to York and the academics were far superior in the latter. Proceeding with planned curriculum, I discovered that I had been lacking a real education in science and math which I had always received top marks in at Catalina. York aided me in catching up in a supportive environment with incredible classmates. College academics were easy for us Yorkies because we had been prepared. 10 years later and York Alumni is still impressively successful. My classmates include Harvard law graduates, doctors, Wall Street investment bankers and professors. We are still close and remember our years at York with complete fondness!
