Shattuck-St. Mary's School (SSM) is a co-educational college preparatory boarding and day school for students in grades 6 through 12 and post-graduate students.
Founded in 1858, SSM is one of the oldest college preparatory schools in the Midwest.SSM is located in Faribault, Minnesota 45 minutes south of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul and the MSP International Airport. Our 250-acre (101 hectare) campus serves students from across the United States and around the world.

As a parent of three daughters who attended Shattuck-St. Mary's between 2011 and 2020 across three different Centers of Excellence (BioScience, Soccer +Vocal Performance) I can say with complete confidence that this school was transformational for our family.What makes Shattuck-St. Mary's extraordinary is not just the academic rigor or the nationally recognized programs. It's the people from all over the world. The teachers, coaches and staff truly knew and cared about my children as individuals (and still do.) They challenged them, supported them and helped them grow into confident, capable, happy adults.The combination of high expectations & genuine care is rare and it set them up for success in college and now in successful careers.As a parent, there is nothing more reassuring than knowing your children are surrounded by adults (and peers) who both love them and push them to become their best selves. SSM did exactly that. I am deeply grateful for the education, experiences and lifelong foundation my daughters received there!
