Since 1978, West Valley Christian School and summer camp has been educating students preschool through high school.
Our enrollment in 2013 and 2014 has netted over 100 new students with capacity enrollment in our preschool, 7th and 8th grade.
West Valley Christian School is best known for our nurturing Christian teachers, data based academic instruction, theater arts, sports programs, and beautiful campus featuring a 9000 square foot gym and beautiful auditorium.
We believe our school offers the most exciting, innovative, and inspirational educational experience that you could ever wish for your child.
It gives us a great sense of pride to introduce the programs that have attracted students with natural fresh talent, creative ideas, and a strong work ethic. Reading, writing, and arithmetic are necessary components of a good education, but tomorrow`s leaders will need more.
They will need strong communication and collaboration skills.
They must be capable of independent thought, relying upon their imagination and creativity to solve problems.
And they will need the skills to understand and engage with a global community.
To ensure a commitment to the most rigorous educational program we are replacing the outdated norms of Stanford achievement tests with the CTC McGraw-Hill TerraNova and Common Core Assessment Tests.
We are not using Common Core curriculum but we are able to measure our students with the standards.
To further our commitment to excellence, our school will continue to be accredited by WASC, keep class sizes, allow students to use their own one-to-one tablets, and will continue to teach with iPads and interactive boards.
Our campus facilities include new buildings, spacious playgrounds, green space, security cameras, gated entrance, nutritional food, computer lab, library, performing arts auditorium and a 9,000 sq. ft.
gym with weight room.
See how our programs have attracted the best students, athletes and artists to come to West Hills, California.
The current Pastor and founder of the school Glenn Kirby, wanted this school to be "For Christ and His Kingdom." For over 35 years WVCS has been dedicated to education where God is central; today's challenge is nurturing growth in our students towards our mission: To provide excellence in education to our students and to inspire each one of them to seek Christ and His Kingdom.
Whether you are looking for a school for your child or looking for an opportunity to invest in tomorrow`s leaders we welcome your support as we pursue excellence in Christian education.

PRESCHOOL INTRODUCTION and TK through 8th Grade INTRODUCTION: 1. Preschool West Valley Christian Preschool campus is home to a dynamic, caring, academically-focused preschool-kindergarten program. Since many of our parents are enrolling their children in school for the first time, we work with the entire family to make sure that this transition is a positive one. It's our number one priority for the children in our care feel safe, secure and valued. Our Preschool's teachers are hardworking, dedicated individuals many of whom have been with our school for much of their teaching careers. They are more than educators. Teachers take part in building self-esteem, instilling moral values, comforting children when they are feeling down and implementing fair standards of discipline. The teachers and staff are committed to establishing a solid foundation for the impressionable youngsters entrusted to our care. We are privileged at the West Valley Christian Preschool to have a culturally diverse population. We are very sensitive, and have made it our business to become educated, about many cultural differences. Students respect each other and enjoy learning about each other's unique family traditions and cultural backgrounds. The early childhood years are the most important in terms of learning and growth, and we take our responsibility to help nurture our students very seriously. In turn, the children in our Preschool enrich our lives as teachers and staff and make our campus a truly magical place. I invite you to visit our campus and experience it for yourself. 2. TK-8th Grade A strong sense of community and accountability is how many would describe our elementary and middle school. TK-8th grade, fosters a strong sense of community--where parents, students, teachers and staff all work together to provide our students a wonderful educational experience. We have a beautiful, well-equipped learning environment with outdoor fields and play areas, a multi-purpose room, cafeteria, gymnasium, weight room, change rooms, separate junior high educational wing, computer lab, science lab, and a new state-of-the-art library. More important than our facilities are the care and attention our teachers and staff bring to the important work they do of educating the next generation of leaders. We are very proud of our highly qualified and committed faculty and of our diversified curriculum that includes art, music, PE, science lab, theater arts, yearbook, Spanish, and computer science, all taught by specialty instructors. We have a strong academic program and many scholastic honors to our credit including the use of Acuity and IXL assessment and instructional resources. Our school also has a tradition of athletic excellence with many championships to our credit including recent titles for both our girls and boys sports. In keeping with our mission, we offer many opportunities for students to gain 21st century skills. Technology is fully integrated into our classrooms with students benefiting from interactive white boards, tablet computers, and more. Creativity is encouraged through our fully-funded music, drama and fine arts program that showcase three to four productions each year for all ages. Students develop character and strong leadership skills through our character education program called Kid's With Character. And we encourage our students to take initiative and put what they learn into practice through extracurricular activities like our student leadership programs. Please feel free to attend any of our upcoming admissions events or schedule a personal tour at your convenience. Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, USC, and Pepperdine University. These are a few names that come to mind when you think about prestigious, highly academic and accomplished universities. Of all the colleges and universities in the Western Region, only 161 have met high standards of quality and effectiveness to become accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, (WASC). It is one of six regional accrediting associations in the United States that accredits prestigious colleges and universities named above, as well as junior colleges, and K-12 schools. WVCS is honored to have received accreditation by WASC. After completing a rigorous three year self-assessment, committee review and evaluation, WVCS received full accreditation term. The responsiveness of the head office and site administration to teacher needs is impressive. High academic achievement across the entire student body is achieved. We commend the exceptionally clean and safe school. A pervasive atmosphere of mutual respect and commitment to student learning is established. The issue is not so much what is taught, but how it is taught and our excellent staff are recruited for their passion, their enthusiasm and their imagination in communicating with children to ensure that every single child in their classes is engaged, excited and challenged by the learning experience at all times. We know that learning is too important to be spoiled by mediocre delivery and our staff is restless in their focus on the needs of individuals. Simultaneously, we are deeply committed to opening the hearts and minds of our young people in every way. We believe that instilling a Christ centered faith helps young people learn how to live dependent on God in their journey of life. Our highly regarded one-of-a kind programs and our unique six excellence initiatives approach to education ensures that we develop the whole person – we focus specifically on the individual needs, strengths and talents of each and every student and we ensure that our outstanding extra-curricular provision, including sports, arts, clubs, leadership and challenge activities, all add up to an holistic Christian education. We continue to reflect and develop all that we do, staying connected with an outside world which is changing faster than at any time in the past both nationally and internationally. We are immensely proud of our achievements and of the community we are building. We hope to have the opportunity to share that with you and your children.
