School Notes Overview: |
Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall, a Catholic college-preparatory school was founded in 1905 by the Sisters of Mercy. The Sisters continue to sponsor it today along with a Board of Trustees which governs the school. Lauralton Hall provides an added dimension to a rigorous academic program. Here the formation of character is valued as highly as intellectual achievement. In keeping with the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy, Lauralton Hall students are constantly challenged to think of others and to reach out to those in need. They are expected to become Renaissance women for the twenty-first century-articulate, and poised, confident and compassionate, gracious in their strength, at home in their own times, respectful of the past, but fully prepared to embrace the future. The school’s unique mission is to foster a community atmosphere enriched by the Mercy tradition and to educate young women to pursue knowledge, recognize truth, and respond to the needs of others. ...read more
