Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High and Ralph M. Williams Elementary in Viera received the accolade after finishing in the top 10 percentile on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Tests, making adequate yearly progress and meeting other standards of high performance after a lengthy self-nominating process.
Smoke prompts evacuation of Melbourne school (Florida Today)

MELBOURNE — Administrators are evacuating a portion of the Ascension Catholic School after smoke was seen in a building, officials said. The report of a haze in a campus building was reported about 8:15 a.m., officials said.
