The Montessori School of Fort Myers was founded in April 1969 by a group of dedicated parents that benefits that a Montessori education would give their children. The first class opened September 1969, in what was then "The Little Green House" on Colonial Blvd. Our present location was purchased from the Villas Kindergarten in 1973. In an effort to accommodate our ever growing population, an addition was made in 1989 that tripled the size of the school. The Montessori School of Fort Myers has continued to grow and thrive for over thirty years. We are actively supported by our current parents, and referred back to by our past members. The teachers and staff here are as dedicated as the founders were in 1969 to the principles and philosophies of Montessori education. At MSFM all of our staff has been chosen for their dedication and commitment to provide the children with the necessary skills to have a full and happy educational experience. Each of our classrooms has a certified Montessori teacher and 1-2 trained Montessori assistants or interns.
