Riverstone International School

I wanted to share this note of appreciation with Riverstone International School. At the beginning of the 10th grade, our child has expressed her desire to attend an international schooling program in the U.S. She started a campaign, which resulted in several options. Our child has elected to enroll at Riverstone International School, as she was impressed with the school's IB rich & diverse 11th-12th year program and the people she remotely met during the admission process. In Aug 2023, at the age of 16.5, our child boarded a 20-hour flight to Idaho and started a lucrative, unique two-year journey. Now that our child has completed 3 quarters of the program and is left with the final semester, we can confidently say she has made an excellent choice! Our child's experience at RIS is outstanding! The school's IB program is managed in a highly professional manner. The students attend focused, small group classes in advanced, modern facilities. The teachers and staff were able to assist our child (as with other international students) in bridging the language and knowledge gap for a teenager who is new to the US education system. The program offers its international students a modern, nicely designed dorm house in the heart of Boise. RIS places much pride on its environmental outdoor classes and trips in the beautiful landscapes of Idaho and neighboring states. The school also offered our child the opportunity to take part in the basketball and volleyball teams while also competing in the SKI season at Bogus Basin Resort. Boise also turned out to be a wonderful social and community life experience for our child, and I'm certain she is making friends for life! While we still have the final semester ahead, I wanted to thank RIS for the opportunity it has provided our child.

Being a Riverstone Family for the past 7 years has been a rewarding experience for not only our child but our family. The primary years education laid a solid foundation for her, instilling curiosity, self-esteem, compassion for others, risk-taking and love for the outdoors. As a family, we have found a community of other families who have become dear friends and a support system through milestones, pandemics and plain old parenting. Entering Middle Years has been a positive experience - our child is known as an individual, nurtured and pushed to be her best self. She is enjoying school, eager to take on new responsibilities that come with Middle Years and is becoming an independent learner and thinker. We are so grateful for this community and the opportunities we have, not only for our child, but as a family.

My son has been at Riverstone for seven years, including in grade, middle, and high schools, and I can unequivocally say that he is thriving in this vibrant school community. The School incorporates its five pillars academic excellence, community & service, leadership by example, international understanding, and outdoor education into its interdisciplinary approach to education, resulting in a robust, rich, and unique educational experience for Riverstone students. As a parent, I especially appreciate the relationship my son has developed with teachers and administrators, who don't just know his name but really know him as a person and as a student. I ask my son every year if he wants to continue at Riverstone versus transferring to a public school. His answer is always the same: "I will be earning my International Baccalaureate Diploma from Riverstone."

I couldn't be more pleased with the exceptional experience my children had at Riverstone, starting from Kindergarten and continuing through their high school years. The nurturing and dedicated teachers created a supportive learning environment, while the strong sense of community helped them thrive both academically and socially. The focus on global awareness, combined with the opportunity to form friendships with students from around the world, was truly invaluable. The outdoor education program further enriched their experience, fostering independence and resilience. Both of my children were not only well-prepared for college but also equipped with a unique perspective and skill set that gave them a significant advantage compared to their peers at other schools in Boise. Riverstone truly set them up for success in life beyond high school.

The community vibe at this school is second to none! With one graduating and one getting ready to graduate this year, I can't imagine another school in the Treasure Valley that could have prepared my kiddos more for the next chapter. We are so thankful we found Riverstone!

I have had two children attend Riverstone International School from elementary school through middle school and into high school. Both have benefitted greatly from the school's academically rigorous IB program, its unique outdoor experiences, and its incredibly kind and supportive student body. The faculty has been very accessible and helpful in personalizing education for each child, and I have seen the results of the education when my children have participated in programs outside the school and received recognition for outstanding performance. I would recommend Riverstone highly and without reservation to anyone looking for an outstanding academic education within a supportive environment that helps them develop a range of important life skills including critical thinking, community involvement, and communication skills.

The personal attention my child receives in the classroom is top-notch. There is a well-rounded curriculum that develops the whole child. Without a doubt, my child is getting a great education, emotional development, and learning how to be a great human being in the world. I really appreciate the focus on self-esteem and problem solving.

Riverstone is an exceptional school - in my opinion, the best in Boise. As a university professor, I appreciate the high level of academic excellence with a focus on critical thinking, interdisciplinary projects, and small classes that foster individual learning styles. The skills my son is learning there are giving him an ideal preparation for college and for life.

Riverstone was a great environment for our son who really thrived in the small classroom setting, with a rigorous academic curriculum and with teachers who were truly mentors throughout his 8 years there. Riverstone is the best educational opportunity presented to students in Idaho and beyond. I have taught in public and private schools and so, as a former teacher and as a parent, I can say that Riverstone has its vision, mission and act together.
