School Notes Overview: |
Mt. Carmel is a private, Catholic college preparatory high school whose mission is to develop young men of character who love God, love life, and love learning. In cooperation with the family, our school offers an educational program which exposes a young man to a variety of ideas and experiences and, in doing so, aims to produce a reflective critical-thinking adult. We establish a solid foundation spiritually, intellectually, socially, culturally, morally, and physically, and expect our students to make progress in these areas according to their abilities, under the requirements of our nation's laws and within the spirit of the Gospel. We are to provide a program of religious studies and encounters that nurtures the faith and understanding of the student and orientes him toward Christian service; to create a community atmosphere that reflects the Christian challenge and offers experiences that honor human dignity in all school activities; to assist students in planning their academic programs for today and tomorrow in order that they can pursue vocational and career goals; to present a college preparatory curriculum which gives each student the chance to grown intellectually and become a life-long learner; to aid students in the process of self-awareness, humanization and adjustment to life in all of its dimensions; and to sponsor a series of extra-curricular activities, aknowledging the varied background and interests of students, so as to cultivate their talents.
