School Notes:

    • Statement of Philosophy We believe every child has the right to education that is appropriate to his/her potential. We also believe that giftedness is frequently asynchronous development in which advanced cognitive abilities and heightened intensity combine to create inner experiences and awareness that are qualitatively different from the norm. We believe that this asynchrony increases with higher intellectual capacity. This uniqueness of the gifted renders them particularly vulnerable and requires modifications in parenting, teaching, and counseling in order for them to develop optimally. We are dedicated to meeting these unique needs. We commit to providing educational programs merited by our students’ varied levels of development, and to providing a learning environment which fosters excellence in teaching, stimulating learning experiences and a problem-solving/inquiry approach to instruction. Individual, small group, whole group, and flexible learning groups are integral to the program.
    • Guiding Principles Science and Arts Academy fosters excellence in a carefully balanced curriculum utilizing methodologies and approaches to learning that assist children in the realization of their full intellectual, artistic, physical, creative, emotional and social potential. We offer small classes and a personalized, challenging curriculum that encourages intellectual curiosity. Our nurturing environment serves to promote the concepts of honesty, self-reliance, leadership, responsibility, self-discipline and concern for others. We realize very few children are equally talented in all areas and take great pride in “accepting children where they are” when they come to us. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, national or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, scholarships, or any other school program.

Make Summer a Special Time! Make Summer a Special Time!
If you have children in private school, then you are most likely looking at three months, perhaps even longer, which you must fill with activities of one kind or another during the long summer break.

Are You Liable? Are You Liable?
Is your DEL key about to get gaveled? It doesn't matter whether you teach in a public or private school setting. You expose yourself to legal risks every single day on the job.
