School Notes

  • Fact-based research and evidence confirm what we`ve believed all along: Pre-K-9 is the independentschool model that best supports the emotional, developmental, and academic needs of younger students before they begin high school. We do not have a high school because we want to preserve an environment in which the needs of younger students remain paramount. With the Pre-K-9 model as a foundation, Tuxedo Park School students learn and grow in a nurturing atmosphere that provides time and guidance to explore identity, goals, and interests. By the time they reach eighth or ninth grade, they are fully prepared to choose the high school that best fits whom they have become, and they are fully prepared to be leaders in their new school community.

TPS is a wonderful place! I believe when kids feel safe and cared for, they thrive. That has certainly been the case for mine. They are truly excited about learning, whether it's about fractions or geography, French, Latin, art, or music. Because it's small, there is a real sense of community and care for every student. We're very happy with our decision to send our kids there!

As an alum who recently reconnected with the school, it's been wonderful to see that the school traditions, commitment to academic excellence, and offerings across athletics and arts are stronger than ever. At TPS, students benefit from small class sizes and dedicated faculty. The school's traditions and the various activities students participate in together help build character and strengthen friendships that last a lifetime. TPS prepared me very well for secondary school both academically and personally. I strongly recommend TPS for parents who are looking for a school that educates the whole child and nurtures character, curiosity, and confidence.

At Tuxedo Park School, from Pre-K through 9th grade, students are given a place to learn and grow, not only intellectually, but in their quality of character as well. TPS is known for its outstanding academics and its ability to really know each student and see their unique contribution to the school community while envisioning their future potential. Teachers seek to inspire a lifelong love of learning while instilling the importance of the school's core values: To Be Kind, To Be Fair, and To Be Responsible. Each student is respected for their individuality, their creativity, and their inner spirit, in small classes where they can truly be heard. The school is a true hidden gem!

This is my fifth year at Tuxedo Park School and I have worked in admissions for either a college/university or independent school my entire career. TPS is a very special place where we educate children in PreK-Grade 9 on a 17-acre campus, located in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Starting in PreK we teach French & all students in the Primary grades enjoy additional "specials" in Art, Music, PE, and science. Our students & teachers alike share that there is a true sense of community at TPS. I invite you to schedule a tour of TPS to discover what we're all about!

Considering how many hours children spend at school each week, we knew that beyond strong academics and meaningful diversity, we needed a school that mirrors the values we teach at home. Thankfully, we found TPS, the area's best-kept secret! Don't miss the opportunity to learn more about Tuxedo Park School. The teachers are wonderful, the students are happy, the administrators are leaders, and the community is caring. I am relieved to know that in a world of uncertainty, I can count on my children growing up in a school actively living its motto - "Be Kind, Be Fair, Be Responsible".

Tuxedo Park School is really one of a kind. I`ve worked in other school settings and the connection that students form with their teachers and administrators at TPS is unmatched. Students are seen, known, appreciated, and accepted for who they are and this really brings out the best in them. Because of this, they feel comfortable taking risks, pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones, and challenging themselves both socially and academically. They also really embody the school`s core values: Be Kind. Be Fair. Be Responsible.
