Notes for Prospective Students

General Requirements to Attend CIS Application Form Completed online application for each child. Application & Registration Fees Non-refundable fees are usually required at the time of submission. Age Requirements Transitional Kindergarten (TK): 4 years old by October 1 Kindergarten: 5 years old by September 1 Subsequent grades follow based on prior grade completion/age. Previous School Records Report cards, transcripts, or progress reports (for K and up). Teacher recommendations may also be requested. Family Meeting / Assessment Kindergarten-6th grade students will take academic assessments in math, reading, and writing. We will also conduct a readiness assessments to understand developmental and social readiness. Family meeting with admissions and Head of School to ensure the school is a good fit. English Language Support Students who are English language learners (ELL) are welcome, but families may be asked about tutoring support or accommodations, as CIS is a candidate for the International Baccalaureate and emphasizes global communication. Immunization & Health Forms Up-to-date immunization records (per California state law). Any health care plans for allergies, medications, or medical conditions.
