Overview
Ronald Knox Montessori School (RKMS) is a parent-owned and professionally operated, non-profit Montessori preschool serving children between 15 months and six years of age.
The school is one of the few schools receiving full accreditation by the American Montessori Society.
As such, it enjoys a reputation that belies its small size.
RKMS is located in Wilmette, Illinois, just north of downtown Chicago.
Founded in 1963 by a group of parents committed to introducing Montessori education to Chicago's North Shore, the school remains fully committed to this teaching philosophy.
Our brand new state-of-the-art facility heralds a wonderful new phase of our school's history.
The much-anticipated building includes the latest safety features and the ability to consolidate all of our programs under one roof.
At approximately 13,000 square feet, it offers spacious classrooms, a dedicated music room, a wonderfully equipped gross motor classroom and playground as well as expanded office and conference spaces.
Since 1982, Rose Hall has been providing an excellent Montessori education in the heart of the Village of Wilmette.
Housed in beautiful classrooms and staffed by beloved teachers who have been at the school for many years, our curriculum is based on the excellent Montessori philosophy and enriched by our parent community.
Rose Hall is a wonderful place for children and their families.
From 12 months to six years old, children at Rose Hall have so many wonderful experiences: from learning colors names to counting to 9,999, from struggling to zip a coat to being able to help the younger children learn to zip, from matching simple pictures to creating a map of the continents.
There is always something interesting to learn and to share with your friends.
A member of the American Montessori Society, The Association of Illinois Montessori Schools, and The Alliance for Early Childhood, and licensed by the State of Illinois, Rose Hall is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of very dedicated current and former parents.
Our Parent Association provides enriching activities for the children and families throughout the year.
