Notes for Prospective Students

History: WCS was established in 1963 and began with one kindergarten class. We now celebrate 60 years of quality education with more than 300 students in preschool through the 12th grade at two campuses. What sets Wichita Christian apart is a purposeful integration of Christian faith and excellent academics. We have made the choice at WCS to emphasize both Christian character and exceptional academics because we believe preparation for a meaningful life requires both. To be considered for admission to WCS, the student must: 1. Have reached the state-required age for entry into school by or before September 1; specifically, students must have reached their 4th birthday to enter Transitional Kindergarten, their 5th birthday to enter Kindergarten, and their 6th birthday to enter 1st grade. 2. Be eligible to re-enroll in the last school attended. 3. Have accumulated adequate credits or be willing to make up credit, i.e., correspondence courses, or summer school separate from WCS (secondary). 4. Have no behavioral and/or learning problems that would prevent WCS from meeting the educational needs of the student.
