Buckingham Browne & Nichols, a coeducational day school in Cambridge, Massachusetts, was established in 1974 by the merger of two independent schools, the Buckingham school and the Browne & Nichols school, founded respectively in 1889 and 1883. Located on three separate campuses, we work as one school in the pursuit of excellence. We celebrate the diversity of our community which enriches our daily experience. At BB&N we foster intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and a deep concern and respect for others. Our educational program, coordinated from beginners through grade twelve, provides a rigorous core curriculum, taught in flexible and innovative ways. Students acquire the skills and discipline necessary for academic accomplishment and learn to reflect, take risks and to discover. The curriculum is strengthened by our commitment to a comprehensive program in the arts and athletics. While some classes just learn about theories, one Lesley University class actually put their learning into action. In an effort to aid the community and learn what it takes to give back, Lesley’s first fundraising and philanthropy class donated $10,000 to Cambridge non-profit organizations.

WIFP urges volunteers to Walk for Hunger May 3 (Wakefield Observer)

The Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry urges the community to participate in the Project Bread Walk for Hunger Sunday, May 3. Volunteers can take part either by walking or by hosting the WIFP post at the Cambridge Boat Club, a water and encourage station for the the walkers for a few hours, mostly between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Hingham High School Sailing Club competes in Boston Harbor (The Patriot Ledger)

A dozen members of the Hingham High School Sailing Club participated in a regatta in Boston Harbor on Saturday, and although they didn’t qualify for a regional competition in Maine, they had a great time, coach Kim Doble said.
