Fontbonne Academy is a secondary school for young women sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston. Founded upon a Catholic, Western intellectual and spiritual tradition, today Fontbonne welcomes students of all faiths as they prepare for life in a global community. For each student, the goal upon graduation is that she will have discovered the true reach of her abilities and be thoroughly prepared for high academic achievement in a college curriculum; she will have had spiritual experience and education that open her to the world heritage of humankind's search for God; and she will have had a social experience in a diverse community that prepares her to live and work among peoples of many cultures. Fontbonne's academic program, co-curricular activities, and daily life seek to instill in young women qualities of leadership, intellectual openness, social connection, and spiritual strength that will support the widest range of personal and professional choices they might make. School Notes:
- One hundred percent of Fontbonne graduates are accepted to college. Twenty percent of the student population is eligible for National Honor Society. A Wellness Center provides personal training, nutrition counseling and stress management tools to students, and provides access to workout equipment before, during and after school. In addition to Fontbonne's strong curriculum, tailored curriculum offerings are available to students through the Virtual High School program run through the school. Eight-five percent of the student population is engaged in extra-curricular activities. A popular equestrian service program attracts many students.

The top-seeded Canalmen improved to 15-2 with their South Sectional Division quarterfinal tournament 3-0 win over No. 8 seeded Hanover Monday night. After winning its opener, a 3-0 victory over Needham, Braintree sustained a 3-0 loss to Walpole’s Rebels at home. But the resilient Wamps bounced back with a 3-1 non-league victory over Fontbonne Academy last Saturday afternoon at home. After losing the first game to Fontbonne, 17-25, Braintree regrouped and finished off the Ducks in three consecutive games, winning, 25-19, 25-18 and 25-19. - Hopefully, experience will pay dividends for Braintree girls' soccer (Braintree Forum)

Matt Freeman heads into his second season with more than 90 candidates for his Braintree High School soccer programs. It might sound like a lot. But Newton North has nearly 100 girls out for their team and, “Framingham has more than a hundred-something,” said Freeman. “It’s the way it is in the Bay State Conference. It’s a great league and every town has an outstanding youth program.”
