Athletics has always played an important role at Fay. Our students compete against other independent schools in a variety of sports, and over the years we have developed friendly rivalries with these teams.

In Pre-K and Kindergarten children take part in an inquiry-based program, where teachers design the curriculum based on student interests and incorporate purposeful lessons in language arts and math. In first and second grade, children continue to build foundational skills through targeted lessons and purposeful play.
Lower School students (grades 3-6) are engaged in an investigative style of learning, and they learn to meet high standards and demonstrate proficiency in their studies. They are encouraged to stretch themselves and take intellectual risks, knowing they will be supported by teachers and friends.
At Fay, Upper School begins in seventh grade. Students participate in an engaging and challenging academic program that includes English, mathematics, science, history, and world languages. Students may choose from French, Spanish, Chinese, or Latin.
The Fay School Innovation Center is a 3,000 square-foot lab space open to Fay faculty, staff, and students from Pre-K through ninth grade. With dedicated spaces for video production, programming, designing, building, and tinkering, Fay students have all the resources they need to learn about design thinking, develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, and build creative confidence.
Fay School values the arts as a part of each student's educational experience. From Pre-Kindergarten through grade nine, students engage in music, visual art, and drama instruction led by experienced practitioners who build upon the innate creativity and curiosity within each child and allow them to give artistic expression to emotions and ideas.
Fay's campus is home to many traditions, and a longstanding favorite is the Color Competition. Fay students are grouped into two teams (the Reds and the Whites) that engage in friendly competition throughout the year. On a Saturday morning each May, the teams show their school spirit at a fun, all-school event full of races, contests, and games.
The dramatic arts are one of the many ways we help students develop the confidence and skills to be effective public speakers. Younger children perform plays written by their teachers. Each student gets a part; everyone has the opportunity to recognize and be applauded. Older students produce a musical each year and participate in all aspects of the production.
Founded in 1866 and located 25 miles from Boston in Southborough, Massachusetts, Fay School is an independent, coeducational day and boarding school for 475 students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 9.
The School's boarding program (grades seven through nine) serves 120 students from throughout the United States and 19 foreign countries, forming a true multicultural community that is a unique and defining aspect of the School.
Fay's challenging academic program emphasizes the development of solid foundational skills, preparing students for the intellectual demands of independent secondary schools.
Fay's supportive learning environment affords students the opportunity to develop close relationships with the School's caring and dedicated faculty.
In the spirit of our motto, PoterisModoVelis(you can if you will), Fay seeks students who embrace the School's core values of Academic Excellence, Earnest Effort, Honorable Conduct, Dedicated Service, and Wellness of Mind, Body, and Spirit.
Through participation in a wide variety of athletic, artistic, extracurricular, and service activities, Fay students gain a better understanding of their interests and talents, and become actively-engaged, community-minded citizens who take initiative and assume leadershiproles.
Fay is committed to helping each child reach her/his fullest potential in preparation for a productive and fulfilling life.
