School Notes Overview: |
Founded in 1821, New Hampton School educates young people differently. Following a nationally accaimed model for experienced-based education, our students and adults work alongside each other to create a dynamic learning community marked by non-hierarchical relationships, mutual respect, and intentional responsibility. New Hampton nurtures the intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual potential of each student. New Hampton believes in developing authentic relationships based on shared experience and common goals. At New Hampton School, positive role models and relationships are crucial to a student's growth and social development. Since learning takes place within relationships that occur naturally as people live, learn, and work together, all community members play critical roles in the teaching and learning process. At New Hampton School each child is known, needed, and cared for, and the adults at New Hampton are teachers, coaches, dorm parents, and mentors who help develop a passion for learning, being active, and enjoying life. Our beautiful and well-equipped campus "village" is home to comprehensive, integrated - and life-changing - programs in academics, arts, athletics, adventure education, and community service. We care about college prep and campus life, a code of behavior rather than a code of dress. Located in the foothills of New Hampshire's White Mountains, New Hampton School is about an hour and a half drive north of Boston, and 10 miles from Lake Winnipesaukee and Newfound Lake.
