It's been 30 years since a Brooklyn couple and their family moved to Upper Freehold and started a horseback-riding center for people with disabilities. The Metuchen Edison Woodbridge YMCA is hosting the Janice Garbolino Memorial 5K Walk/Run Sept. 26, at Roosevelt Park, Edison. East Brunswick High School football coach Marcus Borden found himself within earshot of a conversation at the Lakeview School recently as officials there wondered aloud if they could muster enough volunteers to staff their year-end summer carnival.
