At Holy Name of Jesus School our primary focus is assisting you in educating your children in a fully Catholic environment. It is our goal to provide a faith-filled education steeped in high academic standards for all of our students, grades kindergarten through eight. In partnership with parents and our parish community, we provide the opportunity for students and staff to share their God-given gifts in our numerous extracurricular activities. Growing together as a faith community, we foster respect and love for each person. Rooted in academic excellence, we, as a community of learners strive to create a nurturing atmosphere. Reflecting the attitudes and ideals of Christ, we instill a desire to serve one another. The Catholic School is unique, contemporary and oriented to Christian service. It is unique because of its commitment to the three-fold purpose of Christian education and by its design and operation, which fosters the integration of Jesus' message with the rest of learning and living. It is contemporary because it enables its students to address, with Christian insight, the multiple problems which face individuals and society today. It is oriented to Christian service because it helps students acquire the skill, virtue and habit of heart and mind required for effective service to others....

Dauphin County Judge Jeannine Turgeon Thursday announced local winners of the national "Do the Write Thing" essay contest targeting youth violence. Grand prize winners for the Harrisburg area are Gianna Acri of Holy Name of Jesus School and Gonzalo Oquendo of Nativity School.
