St. Stephen's is a parish school which began as an independent Montessori School at Palmer Memoral Episcopal Church in 1971. The spiritual growth of each student held equal importance to each student's academic, social, emotional, and physical growth. St. Stephen’s Episcopal School Houston embraces Montessori principles to nurture the gifts and character of each student to inspire spiritual growth, creative expression, responsible citizenship and academic success, in preparation for higher education.
