Surrounded by the Green Mountains in historic Bennington, Vermont, Bennington School offers a variety of therapeutic and educational services for socially, emotionally challenged boys and girls. A fully accredited educational program and comprehensive clinical and residential components are the center of the five campuses which total 51 acres. Bennington School's unique rural setting and its close proximity to culturally attractive urban areas provide numerous social, cultural and recreational opportunities to augment its programs. Our program goal calls for students to maximize their potential, develop independent living skills, and then return to a more traditional setting. Short-term objectives are specifically designed to meet the individual behavioral and academic needs of each student according to the Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Individual Service Plan (ISP)....

BENNINGTON -- A former Bennington School Inc. student who pleaded guilty to beating a counselor with a metal bar in May was sentenced Thursday in Bennington District Court. Judge John Wesley handed Jason Cromie, 17, a 6- to 12-year suspended sentence, with 36 months to serve. Friday, May 8 BENNINGTON — Wanita Baker wants her old life back. Baker was attacked last April by Jason Cromie, then 16, at the Bennington School Inc., where she worked as a councilor and Cromie was a student. Tuesday, May 5 BENNINGTON — A 17-year-old former Bennington School Inc. student, accused of attacking a school employee with a dumbbell bar in April 2007, has pleaded guilty to a felony charge of aggravated assault in Bennington County District Court. Thursday, April 2 BENNINGTON — The following case was heard Wednesday in Bennington District Court in front of Judge David Howard: Donald Myers III, 22, of River Street in Bennington, pleaded not guilty by videoconference from jail to three felony counts of aggravated domestic assault and three misdemeanor counts of cruelty to a child less than 10.
