    Helen Terra died peacefully on Sept. 5, 2009 at the age of 96. She was born in Hollister on March 12, 1913 to Joseph Silveira Medeiros and Filomena Gomes Medeiros. Her grandfather, an 1860 pioneer, was a shepherd in the Berkeley Hills prior to purchasing a ranch in Hollister.
