Spectrum Center Schools has been a leader in providing special education services to the San Francisco Bay Area since 1975.
Our program was founded as an alternative for students whose disabilities prevented them from attending public school.
We offer a full range of education services for students with severe emotional and behavioral challenges.
Our academic services are designed for students with high cognitive abilities who suffer from emotional and behavioral challenges.
These students generally have good verbal skills and can achieve academic success in the proper environment.
We recognize that academics alone aren't enough. In order to grow and learn, students must be able to manage impulses and behaviors.
That's why we employ a program knows as Second Step Social Skills Curriculum.
This empirically based system teaches social skills, including problem solving, empathy, impulse control, and anger management, helping students create a mental and emotional framework that's conducive to learning.
Our mission is the same as yours—to help students with severe behavioral, emotional, and physical disabilities achieve their highest potential.
That's why we work closely with you to shape our programs and services in ways that meet the distinct needs of your school district and your students.
