A liberal arts approach to learning is the foundation of our curriculum.
Our daily scheduleof seventy-five-minute classes which rotate over two days provides opportunities for in-depth exploration of literature, mathematics, science experimentation, and participation inthe visual and performing arts.
The student load of coursework includes a total of sevencredits in each academic year.
Our teachers prepare using a backwards-design modelwhich targets critical thinking and problem-solving in all academic disciplines.Course offerings include:HONORS and ADVANCED PLACEMENT courses designed to continuously challengestudents at an advanced level.
Achievement in these courses is recognized throughadditional weighting to the overall grade point average (GPA). DUAL ENROLLMENT coursework available through our partnership with St. ThomasUniversity.
Successful coursework is recognized and is transferable to any college in Florida. These courses are taught by CMCP faculty who have St. Thomas endorsement.
Here atCMCP, students are able to participate in both AP classes and Dual Enrollment classessimultaneously. The CHAMINADE SCHOLARS (CM SCHOLARS) program available for selected high-achieving students who choose to participate in off-campus enrichment activities whileengaging in rigorous coursework.Students who have diagnosed learning exceptionalities may qualify for support in ourLEARNING CENTER. A psychoeducational of 3 years or less should be submitted with allother admissions documents.All students participate daily in a self-paced standardized testing preparation program.There is no additional fee for this SARA APP program.
