Notes for Prospective Students

STEP 1: COMPLETE AN INQUIRY FORM Applicants for Kindergarten must be five years of age by July 15 of the year they will be entering Kindergarten. Click here to complete an inquiry form. STEP 2: REGISTER FOR A TOUR (REQUIRED) Register for Cathedral School Admissions events, including tours, through Ravenna (click here). We require all prospective parents / guardians to attend a Tour and a Parent / Guardian Interview - all other adult events are optional. All events are in-person unless otherwise indicated. School for Boys. STEP 3: COMPLETE THE APPLICATION The Cathedral School for Boys application may be accessed via Ravenna. Applications are due December 31, 2023. There is an application fee of $100 that is due upon submission of the application. If you need a fee waiver, please contact Jos Zamora at zamora@cathedralschool.net or at 415-614-5183. STEP 4: SUBMIT ADMISSION DOCUMENTS Cathedral requests that a student's current school complete an evaluation on their behalf. Student Evaluations can also be found on the Checklist on the Cathedral Admissions Portal. Applications to grades K-1 only require the K-1 Student Evaluation - no Records Request is needed. Applications to grades 2-8 require a Grades 2-8 Student Evaluation and a Records Request. STEP 5: PARENT/GUARDIAN INTERVIEW (REQUIRED) You may schedule your Parent/Guardian Interview on Ravenna. Interviews for Kindergarten will be conducted from October through January 31. Please submit your son's application at least 48 hours before your Parent Interview. STEP 6: ASSESSMENTS & SCHOOL VISITS Kindergarten Practice is an occasion for applicants to spend time on campus and engage in activities that assess their readiness and potential. Kindergarten Practices are scheduled for January 2024. Applicants to grades 1-8 are welcome to spend a day with us at school in January or February 2024. Applicants to grades 5-8 will also attend a morning assessment on February 3, 2024.
