Overview
Clarendon Hall believes that the aim of education is to promote right, reason, and moral imagination, and to explain to the student his/her place in the western tradition into which he/she has been born.
Accordingly, it emphasizes academic studies that put the student in touch with the principles of history, language, religion, literature, logic, mathematics and science through which he/she is enabled to make sound value judgments and to understand his/her cultural heritage.
Clarendon Hall also believes that a well-trained body compliments an educated mind. Accordingly, it stresses academics first, then participation in athletics.
Founded in 1972 in historic Manning, South Carolina, Laurence Manning Academy is an independent, Christian school which offers students the opportunity to receive a quality education and moral values in an atmosphere of Christian faith, higher learning, academic excellence, and personal attention.
In turn, we encourage our students not only to set goals for themselves, but also to evaluate and motivate themselves in all areas of faith and school activities so that one day, they may usefully serve society.
At Laurence Manning Academy, we also believe that student participation in our extra-curricula, athletic, and service programs is the perfect compliment to their academic experience. Students are encouraged take and active role in their choice of clubs, service organizations, arts programs, and athletic offered at LMA.
