St. Margaret Mary School is dedicated to fostering the Catholic Faith, encouraging academic excellence, and providing opportunities for each student to develop spiritually, academically, emotionally and physically, in order to make a unique contribution to the enrichment of the community.
The purpose of St. Margaret Mary School is to provide a Christian educational community where human knowledge is illuminated by faith in the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Church.
In His spirit, we constantly concern ourselves with the spiritual, academic, emotional, physical and social good of one another.
Our school goal flows from the fundamental understanding that the school is a Catholic Christian educational community.
We encompass the concept of education as a vital place of faith.
We strive to offer personal experiences in Christian living through liturgy, sacramental life, prayer, and example.
By fostering an understanding of our mutual responsibilities to one another, we promote Catholic principles in all areas of study.
Our Lady of Lourdes School is located in St. Tammany Parish.
Our Lady of Lourdes School currently includes grades Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grades.
There are two classes per grade with a few exceptions where there are 3 classes per grade.
Class size is limited to no more than 30 students.
We provide regular classes and accelereated classes for students in grades 3-5.
In Middle School (grades 6-8), honors courses are offered for Seventh and Eighth graders so identified.
Enrichment activity classes include art, band, library, computer, PE, and Spanish.
Although we are still operating in temporary facilities since Hurrican Katrina, we have broken ground for 2 new classroom buildings to be completed early in 2010.
