Overview
At the Waldorf School of Louisville (WSL), our primary intention is bringing forth every child's unique potential in a way that serves the further development of humanity.
The curriculum, pedagogy, and teaching methods are designed to nurture this potential.
We do this by providing a Pre-K-8th grade education that inspires our students to become independent and creative thinkers. Waldorf education promotes interdisciplinary thinking, ethical decision-making, and the development of practical skills such as public speaking, leadership, project management, and goal-oriented assignments.
We blend rigorous academics with the arts, movement, and hands-on, project based learning. WSL is an inclusive and nondenominational private school which welcomes all children and their families to join our welcoming community of learners.
MISSION STATEMENT In partnership with families, Walden School provides an educational environment- both academic and social- that fosters a lifelong enthusiasm for learning and challenges individual students to reach their full potential so they may flourish in a diverse and changing world.
DIVERSITY STATEMENT Walden School fosters a community of inclusion that respects, celebrates, and compassionately champions the culture, ethnicity, race, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and gender identities of our LGBTQ community, and the personal diversity of each member of the Walden family. Walden strives to promote cultural competency and understanding through its curriculum, instruction, programming, and community outreach.
