Notes for Prospective Students
St. Thomas does not discriminate on the basis of race, color,
national or ethnic origin in administration of its education
policies, admission policies, financial aid programs, or school
administered programs. It is a requirement that all parents take
the school tour before the family meeting takes place. Preschool
and Kindergarten applicants: Candidates will be evaluated according
to their developmental level. Preschool students must be three
years of age by September 1st. All applicants of this age
must attend an on-campus preschool 'playdate' where they are
observed by our preschool teachers for classroom readiness. Grades
1-5 requirements: The evaluation of applicants includes tests of
academic proficiency administered during their shadow day visit.
Admission decisions will be based upon the applicant's performance
in these tests, upon his or her history in previous schools
(transcripts), meeting the student and meeting with the family, the
student spending the day at our school, and current teacher
recommendations.
