Children's Own School has been a Montessori preschool tradition since 1942. We provide a carefully planned, stimulating Montessori environment to help children develop within themselves the foundational habits, attitudes, skills and ideas which are essential for a life-time of creative thinking and learning. COS recognizes that each child has a unique nature and, with that, the capacity to become a successful learner.
We promote opportunities for independence, perseverance, and creativity. We guide children to self-directed learning and discovery. We emphasive kindness and graciousness in our classrooms.
COS believes that parents and teachers are partners working together for the benefit of each child.
Our primary goal is to provide each child with an excellent Montessori education using the principles established by Dr. Maria Montessori and sanctioned by the Association Montessori Internationale.

I attended this school from 1964 to 1966, and I loved it! It's nice to see that it's still in the same big old house surrounded by huge trees.
