School Notes Overview: |
Montessori Radmoor School enrolls approximately 160 children from ages 18 months to 12 years of age. The two toddler programs, three preschool programs and elementary program utilize the Montessori philosophy to motivate the child from within. Montessori is a unique method of introducing children to a lifetime of enjoyable learning. Special materials, largely manipulative in nature, are suited to the pre-school child's developmental needs. The child learns through handling, manipulating, stacking, sorting, and comparing the materials. Each piece of material, used at three and four, will develop the coordination, powers of observation, concentration and work habits, which are the foundation for the more abstract learning that will occur at ages five and six. Through his own work, the child masters each of these unique materials, and through mastery of the classroom materials, the child develops confidence and a positive self-image. ...read more
