School Notes Overview: |
Since 1986, Delaware Valley Friends School has pioneered secondary Quaker education for students in grades 7-12 who have learning differences. The 209 students who attend DVFS experience a co-educational, college-preparatory curriculum where innovative teaching techniques are a hallmark.
DVFS students are like their prep-school peers; they are bright, motivated and talented. They are also courageous, flexible, innovative, and know the true meaning of perseverance in the face of dyslexia and attention deficit disorder. Small class sizes, cutting edge technology, and concentrated attention on skill-building provide DVFS students with the foundation to excel in higher education.
Quaker beliefs and values shape the fabric of daily life at DVFS. A fundamental optimism and caring respect underlie all interpersonal interactions. The Friends educational approach, as well as innovative teaching, are replicated during the Summer Program (June 30 to August 1, 2008), which features one-on-one tutorials, art classes and intensive instruction to advance reading and writing skills.
Delaware Valley Friends School is located at 19 East Central Avenue in Paoli, within walking distance of the R5 Train Station. Please call 610-640-4150 x2160 for more information or visit www.dvfs.org.
