Delaware Valley Friends School’s (DVFS) golf team plays the area’s first official indoor scholastic golf match using high-tech simulators at Play-a-Round Golf in Malvern.

“It’s likely this was the first match of its kind in the region,” said Steve Cooney, DVFS’ golf coach. “We played a virtual representation of Pine Needles in North Carolina, a course that has hosted a USGA Women's Open Championship.”
In April 2009, This past month, Delaware Valley Friends School’s (DVFS) boys’ varsity basketball team placed third an international tournament in Amman, Jordan. Head of School, Katherine Schantz, and Athletic Directors, Jalal Rhamirich and John Maglio accompanied the students. More than 15 teams from Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt participated; DVFS was the lone representative from the United States.
Inspired by their summer reading, teachers Jean Smith and Dave Calamaro joined forces to pioneer Pennies for Peace at Delaware Valley Friends School (DVFS). “Three Cups of Tea got us to thinking about how important it is to integrate service and charity into our school’s curriculum,” said Smith.
Delaware Valley Friends School (DVFS) students held their 2009 school dance in honor of graduating seniors called “Life is a Highway.” Students decorated the DVFS Café with seniors’ baby pictures and present-day snapshots and also enjoyed a slide show with help of senior parents.
Delaware Valley Friends School (DVFS) held their Winter Assembly featuring readings from the winners of this year’s writing contest and a concert with student musicians and Scot Sax and Sharon Little.

DVFS musicians have been preparing for the Winter Assembly for weeks. Scot Sax and Sharon Little have been working with the students in their studio in Ardmore where the kids recorded three original songs. Sax and Little have worked with both Robert Plant and Allison Krause this past year.

The faculty makes the dreams of each student a reality and helps them achieve all they deserve to be. DVFS has saved our daughter and provided her the future she hoped for.
