School Notes Overview: |
In the primary and elementary division of Lake Mary Preparatory School, our focus is on laying a firm foundation for the college preparatory program of our upper school. Within the primary grades, our staff implements an individualized curriculum emphasizing the many components of reading and mathematics throughout the core subjects, while introducing higher order thinking skills when developmentally appropriate. Each student in the lower school receives instruction in the sciences, Spanish(K-5), computer technology, music and theater, the visual arts, and physical education. The elementary curriculum continues to reinforce basic skills with expanded opportunities designed to foster higher order thinking skills, preparing our students to think innovatively in a rapidly changing world of technology. An integral part of the elementary scope and sequence is the development of character and leadership skills, so that our students are prepared to take their academic training into society as positive, proactive citizens. ...read more
