Overview
Gateway Christian Academy was founded in 1999 by individuals and families from different churches in the community.
Seeking God`s direction and provisions, through researching and planning with other founding leaders of Christian schools across the nation, groundwork was laid for the establishment of a Christ-centered school, accredited by the Mississippi Private School Association.
The school opened with a class of Kindergarten and First Grade students.
By the grace of God, our mission is being fulfilled so that children and like-minded families will experience the benefits offered by the classical and biblically-based method of education.
Gateway Christian Academy continues to grow by the work of faithful men and women and the cooperation of committed families.
Resurrection Catholic School dates back to October 6, 1882, when five Sisters of Perpetual Adoration arrived in Pascagoula to establish a convent and conduct a school.
The Sisters began teaching in the school, called the Academy of the Guardian Angels, immediately; initial enrollment was 47 students.
In partnership with home, parish, and community, students are taught Christian attitudes and values in order to develop a moral, ethical, and spiritual foundation for making appropriate choices.
Students need an orderly, purposeful, caring atmosphere which is free from the threat of physical harm and conducive to teaching and learning.
Our mission is to provide a nurturing atmosphere where each student can reach his full potential as a well-educated, caring, and responsible Christian who can meet the challenges of a challenging society.
