At St. James Day School we assess each child's developmental level and attempt to meet their individula needs by providing opportunities which will help them reach their optimum level of maturity.
During the school day, time is allotted to work with children individually, in small groups and as a large group, which provides varied opportunitiesfor social interaction as well as educational reinforcement.
Our basic philosophy of education for the preschool child is to develop the habit of creative thinking; to develop within the child a positive self-image; to develop attitudes of social cooperation and moral responsibility; to develop a knowledge and appreciation of persons, things, and events in the environment; to provide a readiness program which utilizes the experiences of the children while building a foundation for future math and reading skills; and to establish and maintain an open relationship with parents.
